TITLE: Teacher Support Person - Teacher Aide for Speech Services
Multiple Openings in Program for Exceptional Students
LOCATION: Jefferson-Lewis BOCES within the Indian River School District
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Assist with connecting students on site with remote speech therapist
- Accompany and monitor students from classroom to speech area
- Utilize web-based software and maintain service logs
- Assist and support on-site speech therapists as needed
In addition to the above duties as a speech facilitator, the candidate may perform the following teacher support person duties:
- Assist teacher with classroom duties-correcting of papers, maintaining
- Assists in physical care tasks and health-related activities as appropriate:
- Supervises students – accompanying to mainstream classroom settings,
- Assists students with behavioral management needs;
- Assists with classroom set-up, clean-up, and organization;
- Other duties as directed by classroom teacher
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess:
- High School Diploma or GED/TASC
- Fingerprinting clearance through NYSED
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematics
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Hourly rate starting at $19.00. Commensurate with experience in keeping with the current negotiated agreement with the CSEA.
